A brief historical overview of the building that hosts Residence del Mare:

On 22 October 1801 Giuseppe Minelli, a trader from Veneto, an Italian Region, commissioned the architect Ottavio Fontana to realize a building overlooking Via del Fontanone (today Via Felice Venezian) and Via della Madonna del Mare. Originally the building was composed of two shops at the ground floor, accessible from Via del Fontanone and a small warehouse accessible from Via Madonna del Mare. It was a courtyard house delimited by arches and it had three floors that hosted 6 accommodations. In the following years other 3 floors were added to the building and, as other families became owners of the house, also the entrance of the building and the staircase were subjected to changes. The actual aspect of the building is due to the wise renovation by the actual owners of Residence del Mare.
